MEDCAN information platform on Telegram for the medical use of cannabis
Helping people help themselves
Cannabis has been allowed to be prescribed like an opiate since last August. Patients now have the opportunity to choose cannabis as a treatment option. Unfortunately, medical professionals still don't take you seriously when you ask about it. There are only a few doctors with experience and the pharmacies are not ready yet either. And once you overcome all the difficulties and have a prescription, the costs are often so high that you cannot pay for the cannabis medicine. Unfortunately, in many cases this is still the point that prevents those affected from taking the legal route.
No experience in prescribing
Patients often know much better about the application than medical professionals because they have been treating themselves for years. This creates unpleasant situations. Those affected must build bridges here. The doctors never learned anything about the medical use of cannabis during their training. That's why you have to explain exactly what you need and how to use it - if the person you're talking to is willing to listen. Doctors are particularly unsure when it comes to cannabis flowers and prefer to prescribe extracts. That's why it's even more important that as a patient you know exactly which products are on the market and how they were prescribed to others.
Collect information yourself
Since supply and demand will now change regularly over the next few weeks and months, we have launched MEDCAN Telegram channel Here we collect important information about the pharmacies, the products and the prices. Those affected can exchange ideas here. On the channel you can ask any questions you may encounter about a prescription. The medical cannabis community then tries to answer them together. And this is also the place where you can share your experiences. This can help others. Join and help us help each other.
100,000 sick people who already use cannabis medicinally
Unfortunately, the Federal Office of Public Health did not consider how these patients could be converted into legal consumption. Responsibility for prescribing has been passed on to medical professionals. There is a lack of information for those affected and it takes time for doctors to know about the medical use of cannabis. That's why we have no choice but to collect information together and help each other. It also takes patience until time regulates the market. This development can be observed in Germany. It will be no different in Switzerland. This is a very frustrating realization!
