Newsletter now available in 4 languages

From 2025, we will send our newsletter in four languages: German, English, French, and Italian. This is a significant step for MEDCAN to better reach patients and medical professionals throughout Switzerland.

Multilingualism – a must

Switzerland is a multilingual country. With German, French, and Italian as official languages and a growing number of English speakers living here, it is essential to offer relevant information in various languages.

For many people, the medical use of cannabis is still a new topic. Since the legal change in 2022, which allows all doctors in Switzerland to prescribe cannabis, interest has been growing. This development affects the whole of Switzerland, and therefore it is our responsibility to ensure that every region has access to understandable and reliable information.

But it's not just about Switzerland. The situation in Europe varies from country to country, and many patients and professionals from other countries are interested in how the medical use of cannabis is regulated in Switzerland. Different languages are crucial for raising awareness beyond national borders and promoting international exchange.

MEDCAN's commitment to multilingual education

For a year now, MEDCAN has offered all information on its website in four languages. This allows us to reach everyone in Switzerland, we hope. Starting in 2025, we're taking it a step further: we'll also be sending our newsletter in German, English, French, and Italian. While this means extra work and a challenge for our small Association , we're convinced it's worth the effort. Within just one month, we've gained more than 20 new subscribers per language. This demonstrates the significant need for reliable information on the medical use of cannabis in multiple languages.

A contribution to European enlightenment

With our commitment to multilingualism, we also contribute to the European debate surrounding the medical use of cannabis. By providing multilingual information, we build bridges to countries where access to medical cannabis remains difficult – such as France. Our goal is to create a platform for knowledge and exchange – for patients, medical professionals, and everyone interested in cannabis in medicine.
