Summer break at MEDCAN – it continues in September

The MEDCAN Association has been working intensively and is now taking a well-deserved break. However, we remain active behind the scenes and continue to advocate for the medical use of cannabis. Don't miss any important information and stay in touch with us. Together, we are fighting to ensure that the legal changes are implemented effectively and that sick people can finally use cannabis for medical purposes.
TelegramPatient meeting in the summer

Our in-person meetings will not take place in July and August, but we are still here for you. Patient meetings will be held online once a month. You can find all the dates on our website. And you can also stay up-to-date via our Telegram channel and our social media channels.

Continued patience is required

The supply and demand for medical cannabis will continue to evolve in the coming weeks and months. Patience is still required, and we recommend closely monitoring market developments. We regularly collect and share new information about pharmacies, products, and prices on our Telegram channel to facilitate community exchange and mutual support. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us there. The cannabis community is happy to assist you.

Press release on the anniversary of the amendment to the law

August 1st marks the anniversary of the legal amendment that enabled the association medical use of cannabis. To commemorate this occasion, we will be issuing a press release to highlight the remaining challenges. Unfortunately, obtaining a prescription still requires considerable personal initiative, and doctors have limited experience in prescribing it. Furthermore, educating the public about the therapeutic possibilities of cannabis is now one of our responsibilities, as many people in Switzerland are still unaware of this.

Strategy and lobbying

During our summer break, we are continuing to work on our strategies to improve patients' access to medical cannabis. Currently, the supply situation is far from ideal. We are also updating the MEDCAN website and maintaining contact with key stakeholders to exert influence. Furthermore, we will be reaching out to professional organizations and requesting their support. At the same time, we are preparing for our 10th anniversary in 2024. Our work is not on hold – we remain active in our mission.
